Fleet Defender(tm) Crew Reviver v1.00
Copyright (c) 1994 James N. Hughes

Hello fellow flight sim enthusiasts!

This program is a very simple utility to revive dead pilots and RIOs in
Microprose's F14 sim. It is intended as a stopgap measure for use until
full featured squad editors are released (maybe by me). I decided to put
it together after I determined that my four remaining aircrews were not
enough to defeat the fifteen Fulcrums and Flankers in the last mission of
the "Carrier Duel" campaign!

WARNING: Although I've done substantial testing, this is the initial release
of the program. The program modifies your STAT.F14 file, so please back it up
before running the program. Also, you should not try to use this version of the
program with any version of Fleet Defender(tm) later than 1.2.

If you wish to ask questions, make a bug report or other comment about the program,
please send me EMail at my compuserve address, 73777,3273 or my internet address,
73777,3273@compuserve.com. Please do not call me via telephone with questions
about this program.

To use the program, copy the file REVIVE.EXE to your FD directory
(usually C:\MICROPROSE\F14). Run the program by typing "revive<enter>" at
the DOS prompt. You will then be prompted to select a squadron by a
screen like this:

    Select a squadron:

    a.) VF-14 Tophatters
    b.) VF-32 Swordsmen
    c.) VF-33 Starfighters
    d.) VF-41 Black Aces
    e.) VF-74 Be-Devilers
    f.) VF-84 Jolly Rogers
    g.) VF-102 Diamondbacks
    h.) VF-103 Sluggers
    i.) VF-142 Ghostriders
    j.) VF-143 Pukin' Dogs
    x.) Exit

Type the letter of the squadron you wish to modify. Note: If you want to
revive crews in your YF-Alt squadron, choose your squadron at this screen,
not the YF-Alt squadron. After choosing a squadron, you'll see a screen
similar to this:

    Lost Crews in Your Squadron:

    a.) LaMarr and Baldwin
    b.) Bent and King
    c.) Pope and Gomez
    d.) Looney and Burton
    e.) Young and Jones
    f.) Taormino and Dennies
    g.) Emory and Copeland

    Lost Crews in YF-Alt:

    h.) Twaddel and Turnes
    i.) Copeland and Abe
    j.) Hollis and Harrison
    k.) McGilvray and Dinger
    l.) Devlin and Hodge
    m.) Hiltner and Haire
    n.) Lane and Coburn

Enter the letters of the crews to revive:

At this prompt, type the letters of the crews you want to revive and hit the
enter key. For example, if you wanted to revive Bent, Young, Hollis, and Lane,
you would type "bejn<enter>".

At this point you'll be asked if you want to save the changes to disk. Answer "Y"
or "N".
